Tinted films give protection against sunlight and provide shade. Translucency varies, and can be reduced to as little as 3%. Nearly all tinted films absorb both UV-A and UV-B radiation.

The construction field also affords applications for burglary-resistant, shatterproof films, UV-protection films (to protect displays and goods from UV radiation) as well as etched-glass films and textured films for privacy shielding.
